This is a little different subject, but I've always been fascinated by bugs. Not just the pretty ones like butterflies either. Maybe a new series here, there's surely a lot of interesting bugs out there! What do you think? Any favorite bugs?
If you are wondering about the birds, I'm still working on birds of prey. As usual, the first painting is not what I had in mind so am working on more that I'm happy with. Currently in progress: American Bald Eagle, Peregrine Falcon and Coopers Hawk. I'll post soon with news on those.

It's very good, so fresh and vibrant. Great choice of colours.
Thank you! I didn't think to include technical info. in the orginal post.
This is painted with just three colors: Quinacridone Gold, Sap Green and Chromium Green - all W&N on 140 lb Arches CP.
i really like the colors!
Nice! I love the bug ideas AND your birds are lovely. I really like your watery approach.
Lovely beetle! Great idea to paint a series of insects. My husband does macro photographs of insects and some of the tiniest ones are just gorgeous up close.
STUNNING work.
Cool, delicate, very well done!
Sounds kind of weird to say "what a beautiful bug!" But, it is! How about painting some lady bugs in your series. They are everywhere this time of year--I mean in my kitchen! This is new to me! Looking forward to seeing more bugs (from you!)

very beautiful.. I would love to see ladybugs!
Wonderful beetle! And the birds are lovely too.
I don't like bugs in general but this greenish picture looks so pretty I can't help but feel more kindly towards the bug. Great job. I really like the single tone for the bug.
I just love your "style" very delicate and it touches the viewer!
i like the unexpected choice of green!
The beetle and the birds are nice. Your style is very fresh; I like it!
I love the colors!
a beautifully delicate beetle
I really like the birds and the beetle is nice. You have a wonderful style.
They look ready to fly off the page! I love your work .... we like alot of the same types of things
I really like the way you restricted the palette for the beetle, it totally makes the painting! I love beetles, they're fascinating.
The birds are great as well - really interesting approach with the wet painting and letting the colour bleed like that. It works really well and brings out their colours. Nice way of producing an interesting background too.
Your watercolors are beautiful. It helps a lot to have some pages prepared ahead of time.
Oh, I love these birds! My parents are birders and would love these. All of your work is lovely!
